Description
Overview
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) is a synthetic analog of the natural HCG produced by the placenta. HCG is useful in the treatment of infertility in both males and females. It is manufactured as HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) 5000IU/vial injection which contains 5000IU of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin and excipients.
HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotropin) Mechanism of Action
HCG is well known for its functions in pregnancy. However, it also acts on the luteinizing hormone receptor/choriogonadotropin receptor. Technically, the luteinizing hormone (LH) involved in ovulation and the development of testosterone is an analog of HCG. Therefore, they exert similar effects on the ovaries and testes. On the ovaries, it can induce ovulation and the production of testosterone in the testes. This makes it suitable for treatment of infertility in men and women.
